Without Annie, there was no doubt that under the assault of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of dark, stinking Undead, the little town of Phandalin—which had only just begun to gather a bit of life—would have suffered a bloody massacre!
Then, without a doubt, the place would have fallen into ruin again, and it might be decades or even a century before anyone dared settle there.
But luckily, Annie had come.
Even luckier, Phandalin seemed to lie within the territory of Her Majesty Queen Annie?
She had never taken Neverwinter, that broken-down place, or the title of "Queen of Neverwinter" seriously, and she almost never bothered with governing. But since she had run into this, of course she had to lend a little help.

Once she saw what was happening, Annie—who had been standing on Tibbers' shoulder—Flashed away in an instant. Tibbers let out a furious roar, and almost immediately, dark red Shadowflame burst across his body. He raised both massive paws and charged at the skeletons, stinking Zombies, and hulking wights ahead like a Beast unleashed from its chains. They weren't even enough to warm him up.
Not that he needed Shadowflame to easily smash those skeletons to pieces. But he didn't want to get his fur dirty, or risk some troublesome little mistress dunking him in water and sloshing him around later. So he figured he'd better set everything on fire.
That seemed cleaner and easier, after all. Everyone knew that he, Tibbers, the great bear, had never liked water.
