What a shame!
The next day, Annie had no intention whatsoever of going with Misty, Ash, and Tracey to see that stupid, boring Champion's trophy. It didn't matter that it was supposedly the Champion's trophy from the Orange League competition three hundred years ago, or even that it was an antique salvaged from the bottom of the sea!
So, early the next morning, when Ash, Tracey, and Pikachu came banging on the door and calling for them to get up, full of resentment, only Misty went to answer it.
As for Annie...
Of course, she pretended she couldn't hear them. She kept her door firmly shut and curled up on her soft bed, sleeping soundly in her room.
Seeing that there was no way to get Annie up—and that the door to the luxurious suite was exceptionally sturdy and soundproof—Misty, Ash, and Tracey discussed it and decided they couldn't afford to miss their reserved visiting time. They'd go to the museum without Annie and take a good look at the Orange League Champion's trophy from three hundred years ago.
But what Annie hadn't expected, and found rather strange, was that the three of them were gone for most of the day. They still hadn't returned by afternoon.
Anyway, Annie slept soundly until late afternoon, when the sun slanted through the west-facing window and fell on the edge of her bed. She didn't hear even the slightest sign of the three of them coming back.

When she finally rubbed her sleepy eyes, stretched, and opened the door, she looked around and saw nothing but the spacious, empty, luxurious living room of the suite.
"Strange!"

"It's already afternoon. Those three still aren't back?"
"Honestly, what's so interesting about some lousy trophy?"
