About three or four days passed.
The weather today was exceptionally nice, with bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky!
The day before yesterday, Annie had parted ways again with Misty, Ash, and Tracey. As a result, the three of them now had no choice but to once again ride on the back of their Lapras, slowly sailing toward the next island. They could no longer enjoy the thrill of flying at breakneck speed, or the even faster convenience of teleportation.
"It's so hot..."
After drifting in a daze for a while, Misty raised a hand to shield her forehead and looked up at the increasingly scorching sun. She couldn't help sighing and complaining:
"I feel like Togepi's about to get roasted by the sun..."
"How much longer will it take?"
They had set out to sea on Lapras last night. The moon had been bright, the stars were out, and the sea breeze was gentle, so they hadn't thought much of it. But now it was noon the next day, and they still hadn't reached their destination. That left the three of them stuck on Lapras's back in an awkward and miserable situation.
They hadn't slept well the night before, and they'd barely eaten breakfast. Now they were being roasted by the sun, and Misty, who had only just spent two comfortable days with Annie, felt like she was falling apart.
"Me too!"
Ash, sitting nearby, sighed along with her.
"I'm so thirsty!"
"I wish I could drink the whole ocean!"
"I'm going to dry up into a mummy!"
Yes, Ash was hot, tired, sleepy, and thirsty! If he could, he really would have leaned down over the water and taken several huge gulps of seawater.
"You can't do that."
"You can't drink seawater!"
Hearing Ash say
