That day, after enjoying a delicious lunch, Annie, Misty, Ash, and Tracey stayed on the scenic, uninhabited island to play with their Pokémon, rest, and vacation. They savored the leisurely time that belonged only to them and their Pokémon, and kept at it all the way into the afternoon.
Only after the setting sun gradually reddened the sky did they pitch two tents, full of joy and in high spirits, then start preparing their sleeping bags so they could camp overnight on the island.
In the meantime, Ash had finally managed to gather a huge pile of dry firewood. After begging for ages, his disobedient Charizard reluctantly helped him light a campfire. That let everyone and their Pokémon continue chatting and laughing around the fire as they grilled seafood and fruit and vegetables they had found nearby. They spent an unforgettable and rare island night talking, laughing, singing, and dancing.
Well, the annoying, ever-persistent Team Rocket still showed up in the middle of the night and brazenly launched another one of their ridiculous attempts to steal Pokémon.
Fortunately, Tracey's Scyther, Ash's Charizard, and Annie's little Mew were reliable enough. Under their counterattack, Team Rocket got nothing out of it, as usual. They didn't even manage to wake Annie, Misty, or the others. Mew simply used its psychic powers to send them—and their Magikarp submarine—soaring far away into the dark ocean.
And so!
By the next morning, when sunlight once again blanketed the entire island, Misty, Ash, and Tracey were thoroughly satisfied with their vacation and ready to move on. Annie, however, had vanished before dawn, and no one knew where she had gone with her little Mew this time. The three of them once again continued their Orange Islands journey aboard the slow-moving Lapras.
