That was right!
The ones who had fought those daemons earlier—wiping out nearly twenty Warp Daemons of various sizes, along with some Psykers twisted by Warp corruption, daemon servants, and one troublesome little girl who had nearly blown up an entire street—had been none other than Annie Bonny, who had wandered out alone from an abandoned mining facility in the mountains west of Guixu City!
After the two sides had introduced themselves and gotten acquainted, the lieutenant, a middle-aged man everyone called "A-Wen," repeatedly assured Annie that their supposedly safe underground shelter was nearby. He also warmly invited her to come along. Annie thought it over. It was almost dark, and she wasn't in any particular hurry to go back, so she could just find somewhere to rest for a while. She happily accepted.

The most important thing was that she was genuinely curious about their shelter. She wanted to see how these armed squads—who could still move around in a city crawling with Warp Daemons, survive, and even spare the manpower to search for survivors—had managed to hold out.

After accepting, Annie followed the more than twenty soldiers and armed men, along with the thirty or forty survivors they had found, as they felt their way through the steel buildings. No one knew how many stories they had, and some were already leaning at crooked angles. Inside, they were dilapidated and so complicated that they resembled a maze.
After a full three hours of picking their way forward, the others mysteriously moved aside a concealed wall of reinforced concrete, revealing a pitch-black passageway. Only then did Annie and the exhausted survivors finally reach the entrance to the underground shelter that the others had insisted was "not far at all" and "right
