At first, Annie might have accidentally overlooked some little details without paying attention.
But!
Just now, she had seen the other person's chest beaten in and their lumbar vertebrae broken at a bizarre angle. And yet, even in that state, they hadn't changed expression, blushed, or so much as cried out in pain. There was clearly more to it than sheer willpower.
So Annie took a close look and quickly spotted what was really going on. She had even just pulled apart the other person's injured, bloodied backside—and, sure enough, found the secret hidden beneath that synthetic skin.
In other words, beneath that lifelike artificial skin, complete with a sort of red lubricant, was a body made of steel and machinery?
Actually, if you thought about it carefully, there were plenty of clues. For one thing, the other person had killed dozens, even hundreds, of Warp Daemons without wearing any Power Armour or relying on anything but their "body." They had been dressed in ordinary clothes, too.
And on top of that, they had held their own against that powerful Greater Daemon for quite a while. Strength like that couldn't be explained away by saying they were merely skilled.
Even the most ordinary Warp Daemons were far stronger and faster than normal humans. They were even far beyond elite humans who had undergone the harshest physical training, weren't they?
So only elite warriors in all kinds of Power Armour, able to casually throw punches weighing over a ton and possessing extensive experience and extraordinary skill, could hope to match an ordinary daemon in close combat with nothing but melee weapons. And even then, victory would depend on their skill and courage.
But even the elite soldiers on this planet, equipped with Power Armour that greatly enhanced their strength and speed,
