With the Warp Daemons' command in constant disarray, the mining base's assault squads wreaking havoc, fighter craft and gunships carrying out sustained, large-scale bombardments, Ghost Operatives infiltrating and assassinating targets with abandon, and a certain troublesome little girl making frequent appearances, humanity managed to retake the entire western district without paying too high a price. They then began a standoff with the daemons in the southern district, northern district, and downtown area of Guixu City.
The main standoff was with the daemons downtown. Although the daemons still seemed to lack any unified leadership, in the face of humanity's threat and counterattacks, they had spontaneously organized and gathered nearly two million troops over the past two or three days, concentrating them in the downtown area. There, they banded together, successfully checked humanity's advance, and stopped the human army from moving any farther.
