By now, nearly all of their CMC Powered Combat Suits were smeared with dust, blood, and other grime, and the faces behind their visors—male and female, young and old—were all written with exhaustion and the relief of having survived.
Because, somehow, they had made it all the way here without losing a single person?

Luckily, their unit had two medics, so the wounded were already in their care. If their injuries weren't too serious, they would probably be back in the fight soon.
After all, the Star Sector's battlefield medical care and technology were quite advanced. The medics weren't nearly as specialized as those aboard medical transport ships, but with the CMC Powered Combat Suits each soldier wore, as long as they hadn't died on the spot, even the critically wounded could be given emergency treatment to stop the bleeding and injected with two or three doses of adrenaline or other specialized stimulants. After that, they could keep fighting at full strength for several more hours without any problem.
