"??"
"What the hell!"
"A bunch of useless trash who don't know how to do anything worthwhile. All they can do is run their mouths online, stir up division, chase clicks, and show off..."
Captain Shi Qiang was walking along the garden corridor toward the central hall, browsing a forum on his phone while muttering under his breath and sneering at its posts.
The site he was looking at was obviously the same "Wallfacer" website that had gone completely silent after the widespread deployment of neutron interference devices. For some reason, though, comments were still flooding in on the page about Annie's Wallfacer project.
Whether the remnants of the ETO were deliberately stoking the discussion or ignorant Earthlings and people with ulterior motives were doing it of their own accord was anyone's guess.
All Shi Qiang could see was a bunch of stuffed-shirt do-gooders who fancied themselves righteous and clever, angrily denouncing Annie. And they were peddling the same old lines: that she did nothing but eat, drink, sleep, and play games all day; that she ate pandas, million-yuan arowana, and all sorts of protected animals; that she had fresh fruit and vegetables flown in on military aircraft; and that she had dozens of chefs assigned to her alone. In short, they accused her of wasting Earth's resources and manpower on a life of decadent excess.
There was nothing new about any of those tired old accusations. Shi Qiang had read them so often that his eyes were practically growing calluses.
Of course, on top of all that, there were the claims that Annie openly flouted Earth's laws, shot innocent civilians, harmed another innocent Wallfacer, bullied a little girl to steal her food, monopolized tourist attractions, and wrecked their facilities. In their eyes, all of it belonged on a list
