Chapter 2966: |˙˙) Is That a Big Owl Flying Overhead? (First update)
Annie certainly hadn't bothered with the tangled love-hate relationship between the Earthlings and Trisolarans in that awful universe. Instead, she had run off to play in this world, in some unknown plane.
After all, whether the Earthlings developed on their own or the Trisolar fleet reached the solar system, it would take at least decades, if not centuries. Head of State Annie was a very busy girl. How could she possibly have the patience to sit around watching two tiny factions spend decades or centuries struggling to squeeze out so much as a fart?
So, once she had eaten, drunk, and played her fill, and decided the Earthlings and ETO were no longer much fun to tease, she had come straight to this world. Now she was wandering casually down a city street on what seemed to be nineteenth- or twentieth-century Earth.
Naturally, she knew this was Earth too because of the shop signs everywhere, the familiar letters, the newspapers discarded on the ground, the people coming and going, and the cars and other vehicles speeding along the road.
Of course, none of that mattered!
As far as Annie was concerned, what mattered most was whether there was anything fun here, or any unusual, delicious food!

But just then, as she reached a deserted alley and was about to take a shortcut through it, her sharp eyes spotted something:
In broad daylight, there was a nocturnal bird—a "hoo-hoo" owl—flying overhead. More importantly... it was carrying a letter in its talons?
The very familiar sight made her instinctively take several more looks. She watched as it flew toward her, about to pass overhead.
"!!"
And so!
Without even thinking, she
