The "dry snowball fight" had caused quite a stir at Hogwarts, giving the students a fun distraction from the dull winter. So even over dinner, plenty of students in the Great Hall were still chatting about it with great enthusiasm.
"Annie!"
"You were amazing today!"
"You should've seen the looks on those Slytherin students' faces when they came in to eat!"
"That's right!"
"Especially that Dark Wizard Snape. His face looked like it was covered in ash!"
After dinner, on the way back to the Gryffindor Common Room, Ron and Harry were still talking about the earlier "snowball fight." After vividly recounting a few details, they turned to Annie, who was yawning repeatedly, and asked:
"By the way!"
"How did the fight start?"
Only then did they finally remember to ask what had happened.
"Yeah!"
"How did it start?"
Hermione didn't approve of conflicts between the houses, and she was also unhappy that Ron and the others kept calling a professor a "Dark Wizard." But she was genuinely curious about how Annie had gotten into a clash with so many older Slytherin students, which had ended with them using Transfiguration to "fight" with snowballs.
"It wasn't much!"

"I was building a snowman all by myself, and then..."

"I ran into the captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team. He was upset about something, so he used Transfiguration to conjure up a Giant and stomp my snowman flat. Then I got mad and smashed his Giant."

Annie didn't want to talk too much about something that was already over. She'd fought, and she'd won, so there wasn't much left to say.
"So that's what happened!"
"If they
