Although she had realized long ago that the vehicle seemed to have fallen into a strange space under some kind of control and influence, much like a "ghostly maze," Annie clearly had no idea what the "highway specter" Ming Wan'er had mentioned was.
After all, she hadn't been in this world long enough to play around, so it was only natural that she didn't know about all the strange and bizarre specters that kept appearing here.

Since she didn't know, and didn't understand, she did what anyone would: she leaned forward from the back seat toward the driver's seat and asked curiously.
"How should I put it?"
"Apparently, it's a regional, rule-based anomalous phenomenon?"
Frowning, Ming Wan'er continued trying to drive calmly as she picked up her phone to call for backup or something.
But soon, when she saw the two big "XX" marks on the screen and realized neither her primary nor secondary SIM card had any signal, she tossed the phone aside in frustration.
