The Machine God's Fifth and Sixth Ways to Die
That was right!
Since he couldn't win, couldn't fight, and shouldn't fight, he might as well join them first.
And that was the not-quite-a-solution the Machine God of this world came up with after racking his brains, mulling it over, and thinking hard for a full two days.
Of course, the key point was that he hadn't spent all that time thinking.
After all, he'd always been a shut-in, and becoming a god had only made him even more of one. Shut-ins weren't exactly known for their drive, so putting things off for a day or two, or even three or four, was perfectly normal for him.
Anyway!
He'd made up his mind. He would first see if there was a way to figure out that little girl's background, then solve the problem from within?
"..."
Having decided, he beckoned his system over again, ready to start a simulation.
This time, though, he planned to try a different approach. Just as he'd thought of doing a moment ago, he would simulate going in as one of her allies.
"Hmm..."
"Wait!"
He'd just been about to tell the system to begin the simulation when he suddenly stopped.
After pondering for a while, he gave the system another instruction:
"How about this!"
"Let's first simulate and see what she..."
"is capable of."
"Hmm..."
"Begin!"
With that, he lay back down on his Machine God throne and waved a hand to signal that the system could start.
Once the order was officially given, the system didn't waste time. It began running the simulation across the dazzling, multicolored light screen once more...
