In a little over ten minutes, the Tibbers would reach its target star system and rush to the aid of the human faction there. They were being relentlessly attacked by the Machine race, yet had somehow managed to hold out for an absurdly long time.
The senior officers aboard the Tibbers didn't know how that human faction had lasted so long. They were also a little worried that the Machine race might have laid some kind of trap. But since Annie, their captain, had made the decision, the old men stuck to their principle of trusting her unconditionally. In the end, they headed for the star system, prepared for the worst.
The stargate was already visible in the distance ahead of the warship. Once they passed through it, they would arrive in the target system—the one belonging to the human faction that had sent the distress signal.
Inevitably, the entire ship went to Level One battle readiness.
And yet, with the warship about to enter the stargate, the troublesome little girl captain still wasn't answering calls from the bridge, nor had she gone there to take her post. With no other choice, the old captain and first mate hurriedly sent Liboli to check on her and urge her along.
