But soon, she shook her head with a sigh and firmly rejected Annie's joking suggestion.

Annie remembered, too, that there were a lot of people up there. If they took it over, she'd probably have to worry about all the problems herself.

Annie also felt that Dragonbone Village's small-scale farming economy couldn't support the entire Lighthouse. If there really were that many people, she probably wouldn't be able to eat big meals at "Food Is Everything" every day.
So she figured they should just let those poor suckers on the Lighthouse keep eating insect cakes. After all, insect cakes were made by grinding up all kinds of bugs, then drying and pressing them. They were packed with vitamins, and had several times the protein of chicken. With food that good, she wasn't about to fight the Dustfolk for it.

After waiting a while longer, Annie finally asked listlessly,
"So what do we do now? Just keep staring at it?"

She looked at the dark, gloomy thing in the sky in the distance and thought it was pretty silly for all of them to stand here watching it. It was so huge that they could just keep an eye on it from the snowy mountains near Dragonbone Village. There was no need to come all this way!
"Exactly!"
Shattered Star crossed her arms and said nonchalantly,
"Just watch it!"
"What else can we do? It'll all be over in one night anyway."
"Just put up with it, and it'll be over!"
When she heard that it was exactly as she'd thought, Annie drooped
