Since Annie had given them a ride, and the carriage was so fast and comfortable, Frieren and Fern had simply skipped mentioning the need to find somewhere to rest for the night. They chatted until they fell asleep right there in the carriage.
After all, they were both truly, terribly tired.
When they finally woke up the next morning, the carriage had already reached their destination: the village where the ancient demon mage known as Qual, the Sage of Corruption, had been sealed away.

Fern, who had been traveling with her teacher Frieren for quite some time, had never imagined she'd wake up to find them already at their destination. It was an incredible and novel experience.

Fern soon noticed in surprise that the coachman who had driven them the previous day was nowhere to be seen.

As she spoke, Frieren couldn't help feeling wistful. She wished they could have a carriage like this, since there was no better or more suitable means of transportation for their long journeys.
Unfortunately, making one required an extremely high level of magical skill and deep knowledge of enchantments, runes, and magical constructs. Most importantly, it also required a large supply of precious magical materials and gems. Even its upkeep and running costs would be exorbitant—and Frieren had none of those things!
So all she could do was dream. Even if Annie gave her the carriage, she and Fern wouldn't be able to maintain it. They might not even have enough money to replace its magical gems.
