Aize's request was simple: he wanted Frieren and Fern to help him search for a book deep in the Foer Basin—a grimoire by Flamme!
Most of the books that claimed to be Flamme's grimoires were fakes, but somehow Aize had found a clue. He insisted that a genuine grimoire by Flamme could be found deep in the Foer Basin, where he lived.
And why would Aize, a Dwarf warrior, ask Frieren and Fern to look for Flamme's grimoire? Naturally, it was because of Frieren.
Or perhaps you could say it was for both Himmel and Frieren?
They said that the grimoire contained instructions on how to communicate with the dead—and might even explain how to bring the dead back to life.
As for whether that was true, Aize didn't know. He was a warrior, after all.

In the end, he had managed to narrow down the grimoire's likely location.
It was somewhere deep in the Foer Basin. As for exactly where, neither Heiter nor Aize could help.
Finding a book in such a vast, wild forest basin was incredibly difficult. Aize, who lived on the edge of the basin, had tried searching many times over the years, but he'd never found a thing.
So, believing that perhaps only magic could help him find the book, Aize had taken the opportunity when Frieren came to visit—and when she offered to do him a favor—to bring up the task that had troubled him for years, one he still hadn't managed to complete by the time Heiter
