At that moment, Annie once again raised her head in displeasure, interrupting some of Frieren and Fern's baseless accusations. Then she folded her arms and glared back at them, her little face full of defiance.
"You're the ones who can't catch those birds because your skills are lacking, and now you're blaming me?"

Seeing how the conversation was about to turn back into a pointless argument over whose fault it was, Ilena quickly stepped in as peacemaker once again.
Then she rubbed her stomach and looked at Fern with a pitiful expression.
"The most important thing now is—"
"Fern, hurry up and make dinner!"
"We've been eating dry rations and drinking cold water in that lousy forest for two whole days. I'm starving!"
"This witch desperately needs some delicious food to comfort her tormented stomach and wounded heart!"
"Do you understand?"
Ilena wasn't exaggerating!
These past two days really hadn't been easy for her. She hadn't slept well or eaten well. There'd been plenty of dry rations, but since it was spring, there hadn't been many wild fruits to eat. And every so often, she had to deal with those enormous, flying magic birds that kept bothering them. She really was famished.
All she wanted was a proper feast, a little red wine, and then a lovely soak in a hot spring. After that,
