Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was the morning of the second day after Queen Catherine's departure.
Naturally, Annie and that female knight attendant, Lania, had not slept at all the previous night. They had spent the whole night wandering around Karyad's territory, riding around and hacking away to their hearts' content.
Of course, it did not really count as wandering aimlessly.
At the very least, over the dozen or so hours from the afternoon until the following morning, they had wiped out dozens of Troglodytes, Imps, Felhounds, and the like, then recaptured a sawmill, a mine, a watchtower outpost, and a Griffin Tower.
Basically, with just the two of them in a single night, they had cleared more than seventy or eighty percent of the enemies within twenty to thirty kilometers around Karyad City.
Of course, Annie had done most of the work. Knight attendant Lania had merely followed behind to cheer her on, then chased down and casually chopped up a few fleeing Troglodytes after each victory. She had not contributed much.
Yet even so, Annie was very unhappy!
Because even though they had cleared many areas, and even though they had practically swept away all the monsters around Karyad City in one night, their numbers had not increased by even a single person by the following morning!
And that was what had been bothering Annie all along.
Back when Annie had played this campaign in that game, clearing out the surrounding areas had earned her quite a few soldiers, militia, griffins, and surrendered monsters. She remembered that Karyad City's region alone could probably gather a motley force of several hundred or even a thousand troops?
They might not have been much use, but they would definitely have been more than enough to
