One evening in the Forbidden Forest outside Hogwarts, after dinner and after leaving a notice by the Great Hall exit with the exact time of her open class, the energetic little Annie found herself with nothing to do! So, bored out of her mind, she came here alone and wandered around aimlessly.
In the three days since arriving at the castle, Annie had noticed more than once that there seemed to be all sorts of strange magical fluctuations in the little forest outside Hogwarts School! Driven by curiosity, she had first looked through some school histories and yearbooks in the library and learned that the Forbidden Forest was home to many Fantastic Beasts! So after dinner, Annie had eagerly come here by herself to see what exactly made those creatures so fantastic!
It was already evening. The trees in the Forbidden Forest were so thick that they blocked most of the light, making everything look a little dim!
Annie wandered along, grumbling under her breath! But the gloom didn't frighten her at all. Compared to the Voodoo Lands, this place was nothing! She just hated how hard it was to walk along the forest paths! The thorny weeds and prickly vines along the trails were so annoying! They kept catching on her skirt, and she was so mad she wanted to set them all on fire!
After some time, Annie had just turned around a dense thicket along a path so overgrown with weeds that it was almost impossible to see when she spotted something strange up ahead. It was giving off a faint, silvery-white glow! Then something seemed to click in Annie's mind. Her spirits lifted, and she quickly broke into a brisk trot.
