Looking at the Buvelle estate on the outskirts of the city, Lux took a deep breath to steady her complicated feelings, then resolutely stepped forward and knocked on the heavy wooden door.
Perhaps something had upset her. Perhaps she'd felt the magic inside her growing increasingly difficult to control. Or perhaps she'd seen how the Kingdom of Demacia was persecuting mages more and more harshly.
Whatever the reason, an invisible sense of urgency—or perhaps one she'd simply imagined—had driven her to finally make up her mind. After spending all last night and this morning hesitating, she'd temporarily put aside every duty she had with House Crownguard. Then, under the name Luxanna Crownguard, she'd come here to personally visit the estate of the noblewoman, Lady Lestara Buvelle.

Lux thought it would be much easier to come here and ask that strange little mage a few questions than to risk going to The Arcatraz and visiting the terrifying mage Sylas in front of countless guards.
So she'd come alone, bringing no one with her and telling no one where she was going—not even her older brother Garen, who was cooped up at home, or her powerful aunt Tianna, who was always busy with one thing or another and hardly ever home.
