Looking at the gigantic sea monsters hanging from the wooden winches at the docks—fish even larger than Earth's blue whales—and at their enormous, monstrous teeth, their skin split open by sharp blades and slick with blood, and the vivid red, reeking flesh beneath, Annie covered her nose and backed away several steps, not daring to go any closer.

That pungent, bloody stench made her feel awful...

The whole harbor had already been stained red by blood from the giant fish and monsters being butchered in the slaughterhouses scattered around the docks. The seawater looked as though the entire harbor were filled with blood, a gruesome and terrifying sight!

Farther out, beside almost every slaughter dock, were circular blood troughs of various sizes. A small amount of blood from the butchered sea monsters flowed directly into the harbor, staining the nearby water into a "Blood Sea," but most of it was collected by the proper equipment and stored in troughs like salt pans.

Then the dockworkers busily stirred, coagulated, and separated it. With practiced efficiency, they sorted the edible parts, medicinal ingredients, and other useful substances from the sea monsters' blood into separate small barrels, which the porters quickly hauled away...

Clearly, they were well accustomed to this work. They were processing the enormous sea monsters quickly and efficiently, squeezing every last scrap of flesh, every bone and tooth, and even every drop of blood from them, turning it all into goods that could be sold for profit!

"Haha!"

"Little girl, isn't Bloodharbor quite a sight? That's just how our Slaughter Docks are. Stay long enough and you'll get used to it—and might even grow to like it!"
