Dawn broke...

At the Slaughter Docks on Bilgewater's Bone Bay, no fresh sea beasts were being butchered on the killing frames this early in the morning. But after years upon years of slaughter, the crimson blood of countless sea beasts had seeped into every rock, every grain of sand, and every drop of seawater in the harbor... So the water here seemed to be forever stained a reeking, ghastly red.

Of course, after a whole night of waves washing over it, the red water in the harbor had already faded considerably. It was nothing compared to the horrifying deep crimson it took on during peak slaughter hours.

And so,

The blood-red water and the rising sun in the distance reflected one another. As far as the eye could see, the sky and sea alike were a brilliant red... giving this place an eerie, blood-soaked beauty, the kind found on a battlefield after a slaughter... "Watch the sunrise over Bone Harbor, where blood and sky share the same hue" was one of Bilgewater's most renowned sights!

Unfortunately, no one here had the slightest attention to spare for the view. To the people of Bilgewater, it was something they had long since grown used to.
