Neither the mortal Paladin nor the little Witch hiding not far behind him had ever been taken seriously by the Dreadlord Mal'Ganis. Their powers were beneath his notice. Otherwise, he wouldn't have kept calling the people of Lordaeron "mortals."
As a powerful Nathrezim and one of the high-ranking leaders who served both the Burning Legion and the Scourge, Mal'Ganis had been sent to the world of Azeroth to oversee the pitiful creature trapped in Northrend and ensure it fulfilled its duties: spreading plague and death, throwing the Kingdom of Lordaeron into chaos, and tempting an important figure in Lordaeron to join the Scourge, hastening the continent's destruction. He wouldn't have been entrusted with so many responsibilities if he weren't powerful enough to handle them.
So,
faced with a pair consisting of an old Paladin and a little Witch, he had no intention of wasting time. He unleashed wave after wave of Fel energy, shrouding himself in darkness wreathed in purple demonic power and green Fel. Then he hurtled toward the Paladin ahead of him!
"Die, mortal!"
With a vicious grin and an angry roar, Mal'Ganis swung his Fel claws, blazing with green Fel energy, at the Paladin with all his might. He looked ready to tear Davie Crawford into several pieces with a single swipe.
Clang! Clang! Clang!!
Two light strikes and one heavy one—a three-hit combo finished in an instant...
"Ugh!"
Davie the Paladin grunted. Holy golden light burst from his body, and sacred flames burned beneath his feet. He managed to block every attack, but the unexpectedly powerful final blow still knocked him off balance. The Dreadlord's terrifying evil power washed over him, clashing violently with the Holy Light within him and leaving him reeling with pain and dizziness.
Clearly, though Mal'Ganis wielded no weapon, his Fel claws
