The map of Baqi had appeared in Chen Feng's mind. His top priority was to reach Baqi City, then head east to look for the Mine Cave.

As long as he reached Baqi City, he could skip the quests and at worst receive no rating. He wouldn't lose any points.

"Miaow—" A cat's cry came from the distance, sounding especially jarring in the silent forest.

At the sound, the deer that had been grazing startled and quickly fled.

Chen Feng looked toward the sound. A monster about half a person tall, resembling a sturdy monkey with a cat's head, was slowly approaching him with a rake in its hands.

"Miaow!" Seeing Chen Feng look its way, the Rake Cat yowled again and charged at him.

Cats infected by the evil power of the Marfa Continent had grown abnormally strong. These monsters had gained immense strength without losing their feline agility.

It raced toward Chen Feng on two legs, raising the rake in its hands high before swinging it down hard.

The shadow, which had been hiding in the tree, froze when Chen Feng suddenly appeared in front of it. Then it let out a yowl and swiped at him with its Iron Hook.

But Chen Feng was too fast. Before the Iron Hook could reach him, his palm had already struck the Multi-hook Cat in the chest, knocking it out of the tree.

The Multi-hook Cat landed and convulsed a few times before blood began pouring from its eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Soon, it stopped moving.

The Rake Cat had only just reached the foot of the tree. Seeing Chen Feng kill its companion in a single blow, it dropped its rake, went down on all fours, and fled deep into the forest.

Chen Feng watched the fleeing Rake Cat, his brows knitted. He hadn't expected even these lowest-level creatures from the game to possess intelligence.

When the Rake Cat had made a sound, Chen Feng had sensed something climbing the tree behind him, watching him with hostility.

"Miaow—!" Just then, a pitiful cat's cry came from the distance. Startled, Chen Feng hurried over to investigate.

He hadn't gone far before he spotted the Rake Cat that had fled earlier, tightly bound by a plant and unable to break free.

Then a giant flower bud emerged from the ground. Four enormous petals opened into a gaping mouth and engulfed the Rake Cat.

A few minutes later, the flower bud that had swallowed the Rake Cat fell silent. Its petals opened and swayed from side to side. After sensing nothing nearby, it burrowed back into the ground.

The Man-eating Flower was one of the nastier monsters new players encountered in Legend of Mir. Aside from mages, no low-level players wanted anything to do with it.

Man-eating Flowers were mainly found not far to the north of Ginkgo Valley, but there was no guarantee they would only be there. They were scattered throughout the forests of Baqi Province.
