The blizzard itself seemed unable to withstand this attack, parting to either side. The rapidly advancing strike left behind a dark, profound scar, as though even the sky could not bear it and had split in two.
The wind and snow still howled on both sides, but the line through the middle was silent and desolate as it quietly flew toward Tang San.
Alarm bells rang wildly in Tang San's heart. He felt as if that attack would slice his body in half, and he hurriedly swung the Trident in his hand, unleashing the third move, One Goes, Never Returns. The golden phantom collided with the dark-gold claw mark, followed by a thunderous explosion. Vast shockwaves swept through the wind and snow across the battlefield, scattering them in every direction.
"Not bad. You actually managed to block that attack."
Surprise appeared on Xiong Jun's face. This was a skill he had comprehended after crossing that threshold, formed by merging his ultimate metal attribute with the power of his bloodline. Tearing through space with it was effortless.
Snow Empress and Ice Empress had now broken free from those eight seconds of stiffness and both hid behind Xiong Jun. They had realized that this was no longer a battlefield they could join. This was a war on the level of gods.
A sudden sorrow rose in Snow Empress's heart. Since when had even she become unqualified to stand on the battlefield, forced to watch others wreak havoc throughout the Far North Land? At the same time, she realized that something they did not know must have happened in the Star Dou Great Forest. They had to involve themselves in what came next.
"Lord God of the Sea!"
Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao cried out in alarm. Anyone could see that their opponent was at least a match for the God of the Sea, and they could not help worrying that he might lose. What would happen to the two of them then?
In the end, neither of them particularly revered the God of the Sea. Wang Dong still held a grudge over the inexplicable appearance of so many things related to the God of the Sea on her body. As for Huo Yuhao, Electrolux had broadened his horizons too much, and when he had knelt and prayed as a child, it had been completely useless—his mother had still died of illness. More than anything, his hopes for the God of the Sea lay in reviving his mother.
"It is nothing. It was merely a small test."
Tang San's expression was grave. He had not expected this beast before him to truly cross that threshold, nor to possess the power to kill this incarnation.
He had already begun considering how, no matter what, he had to return and retrieve the other divine powers he had left behind on the continent. The portion on Sea God Island might not be enough, especially since much of it had been consumed for the sake of Sea God Island. He also needed to obtain the Asura Divine Power as soon as possible.
As the dust settled, everyone's figures emerged once more.
A savage grin appeared on Xiong Jun's face as he looked at Tang San in the distance, whose hands were now empty.
To block Xiong Jun's attack, he had used One Goes, Never Returns to sacrifice the Sea God Trident.
"You two leave first. Get out of the Far North Land and return to Shrek Academy. I'll come find you."
Tang San opened a spatial passage and sent the two of them inside, preventing them from being killed by the aftermath.
The loss of a divine-power incarnation was not too great for Tang San. After all, he had buried quite a bit of divine power throughout Douluo Continent in the later years. Back when his companions inherited their divine positions at the various other godly inheritance sites, he had left behind a great deal of divine power in nearly every one of them.
Had he not been worried that a sudden reconnection between Douluo Continent and the God Realm would alert the God of Destruction, he would have reclaimed all of his divine power long ago. Leaving so much divine power on Douluo Continent did not comply with the rules of the God Realm.
After sending the two away, Tang San breathed a sigh of relief. With no more worries holding him back, as long as this wisp of divine consciousness remained unharmed, it would be worth it even if he had to self-destruct this incarnation to kill his opponent.
"What you intend to do is exactly what I intend to stop."
Xiong Jun sneered when he saw Tang San's actions. He fired endless golden rays at Tang San while tearing open space and thrusting his claw inside, attempting to drag the two back.
"Damn beast!"
Tang San's eyes nearly split with rage. Those two included the Child of Destiny he had waited countless years for, the God Realm's hope of suppressing the God of Destruction.
But Xiong Jun's attack came with overwhelming force, and Tang San could only do his utmost to block it. Wooden walls formed from the Blue Silver God resisted Xiong Jun's attacks, constantly repairing themselves after being destroyed.
"How is this possible?"
Surprise appeared on Xiong Jun's face. Following the spatial tunnel that had yet to collapse, he found where the two human children had landed, but there was no sign of them. In his shock and uncertainty, he threw a punch, blasting a hole through the landing site. Within lay spatial currents and spatial fragments capable of causing even a Titled Douluo to lose their way and die.
Noticing Xiong Jun's expression, Tang San roughly guessed that he had failed. He sighed inwardly that the Child of Destiny truly was the Child of Destiny, always able to turn disaster into fortune. Even Tang San had thought they were certainly doomed.
"Beast, come on. The warm-up is over. Let our real battle begin!"
Tang San floated in the sky. Behind him were the simulated God of the Sea Eight Wings; ice-blue divine artifact armor covered his body; his left hand tightly gripped a massive dark-gold hammer, while blue-gold vines swayed ceaselessly over his right hand.
"Oh? Why aren't you using your Sea God Thirteen Styles? Aren't you the God of the Sea?"
Xiong Jun mocked Tang San's chaotic appearance. Though he spent most of his time asleep and rarely went outside, Di Tian would occasionally tell them about the human world. One piece of news was that Tang San, the second God of the Sea, seemed to know only the moves of the first God of the Sea. After becoming a god, he had even thrown away nearly everything he had mastered before.
Tang San's face darkened. Why expose someone's weaknesses in a fight? It was because he had to constantly refine faith to elevate the God of the Sea divine position, as well as strengthen his surveillance of Douluo Continent to prevent beasts like them from causing trouble, that he had no time to study his own abilities.
Besides, the Sea God Thirteen Styles were so useful... And when truly fighting an enemy, Tang San felt that the Asura God's skills were more powerful anyway. These mere beasts simply lacked the knowledge to understand.
"Come on. I'll beat you, this so-called God of the Sea, to death with my own fists."
Armor had already appeared on Xiong Jun's body. He bared a savage grin at Tang San. Today, he, Xiong Jun, would slaughter a god. Even Di Tian would not be able to stop him.
Tang San stared intently at Xiong Jun. Although the God of the Sea divine power would be suppressed in this environment, the Ice God divine artifact could continuously replenish his divine power and reduce consumption. Today, he would wear this beast down to death if he had to.
..."Yuhao, where are we?"
Wang Dong stared blankly at the black sun in the sky. Purple light shone upon this space, making everything look rather eerie.
"I... I don't know either."
Huo Yuhao was also somewhat stunned, staring stupidly at everything before him. The emptiness of his Soul Power eventually brought him back to his senses.
No vegetation existed on the uneven ground. The entire land was made of pitch-black soil, while an icy, deathly aura surged toward the two from all directions.
"This is a demiplane I created, a demiplane created by a necromancer."
A faint sigh sounded as Electrolux's phantom floated out of Huo Yuhao's body and came before the two of them.
"Dumb beast."
Donghuang Taiyi chuckled and restored this stretch of time and space to its original state.
"Come on, little fellow. Return with me. Bai Ze acts so unflappable every day; I'll take you back and tease him with you."
Donghuang Taiyi picked up Lu Wu, his tone full of teasing.
"By the way, what should I call you from now on? Bai Ze is already called Bai Ze, so how about I name you Xiao Bai? I can call you Xiao Bai in front of Bai Ze from now on."
Donghuang Taiyi no longer had the imposing presence he had displayed when he first appeared. Instead, he looked like a witty, humorous young man.
The only thing Lu Wu disliked was that he was the prop being used for the teasing.
"My name is Lu Wu! Not Xiao Bai!"
All sorts of dogs named Xiao Bai appeared in Lu Wu's mind.
"Fine, Xiao Bai. Once you've shown your face before Bai Ze, I'll call you Lu Wu again."
Donghuang Taiyi gently patted Lu Wu's head and looked at him with a smiling expression.
