Background / History

Xiong Jun was working on the Dark Gold Dreadclaw Bear clan’s inheritance when Lu Wu summoned him. Initially skeptical, he was struck by Lu Wu’s lightning after overstepping his bounds; he immediately begged forgiveness and cautiously groomed his charred fur afterward 4.

He follows the law of the jungle and accepts Lu Wu’s leadership because Lu Wu is stronger than him. After becoming a Demon, Xiong Jun’s earth affinity and endurance increased dramatically, giving him confidence that he could wear down even Di Tian in a grounded battle 7 10.

Humans hunting Dark Gold Dreadclaw Bears—especially the hunting of one of his children—deepened his hostility toward humanity. Before his transformation, he killed two humans in retaliation but returned half-dead and required centuries of recovery 23.

Xiong Jun’s true form is a massive Dark Gold Dreadclaw Bear with thick fur, tough hide, and bristly defenses capable of enduring harsh attacks and extreme cold 10 48.

Xiong Jun is aggressive, proud, and eager to prove his strength. He enjoys direct combat, particularly against powerful opponents, and initially treats weaker enemies with open contempt 23 25. His confidence is rooted in his endurance: he believes that, unless instantly defeated, he can outlast overwhelming numbers of enemies 23.

Though reckless, he is not unintelligent. His death at Tang San’s hands teaches him the danger of fighting without understanding an opponent’s abilities, and he later adopts pills, talismans, feints, and psychological provocation as part of his combat approach 4 53 101.

He is deeply respectful toward Lu Wu, crediting his transformation and strength to Lu Wu’s guidance. His poor aptitude for deduction and unusually troublesome luck are recurring sources of amusement for the other Demons 25 40 45.
