Background / History

When Gamora was young, Thanos massacred half the population of her planet, including her parents. She became his adopted daughter, received combat training from childhood, and underwent physical modifications under him 395 396 414 422.

Gamora became Thanos's most outstanding and favored daughter, earning access to intelligence unavailable to many of his followers. His willingness to help Ronan destroy Xandar reminded her of her own planet and family, strengthening her desire to escape his control. She sought enough money to establish an independent life rather than immediately pursue revenge 391 393 403.

Appearance

• Green skin — visible during her introduction aboard Sanctuary II 391.
• Red hair — together with her skin color, helps Feeney recognize her while she follows him on Xandar 395.

Personality

Gamora presents a cold, direct demeanor and little patience for unnecessary conversation. Despite her confidence as an assassin, she investigates unfamiliar situations before acting and recognizes when an opponent exceeds her abilities. She abandons her pursuit on Xandar once her combat intuition warns that she may have been discovered, though she reacts too late to escape Feeney 392 393 395.

Her attitude toward Thanos is conflicted. She admits that she hates him and chooses to betray him, yet his concern for her safety briefly shakes her resolve. Freedom remains her immediate priority: she worries about Feeney's ability to protect her and continues pursuing the Collector's bounty as a means of escape 395 396 403 413.
