Background

Feeney initially develops his system abilities in secret, discovering that using skills on people—particularly in combat—fills his Experience Bar more quickly. His early abilities are poorly suited to direct battle, so he initially avoids using them openly. 6

After drawing Possessed by Evil Spirit, he tests it in an abandoned factory he uses as a private base. The armor gives him his first reliable combat power, but its stamina cost forces him to confront his physical limits. 7

Feeney seeks out the Ancient One and joins Kamar-Taj, agreeing to share its responsibility of protecting Earth. His magical aptitude is only average, and his progress in conventional sorcery is slow, but he compensates through combat training, his system skills, and persistent experimentation. 8 14 16

As his public actions draw attention, media outlets give him the name Silver Knight, later followed by titles such as Divine Punishment Knight and Silver Dragon. Feeney dislikes these names and initially guards his civilian identity to protect his family. 46 73 161

He eventually reveals himself publicly as the Explosion User, identifying himself as a human man while rejecting the idea that he is a traditional superhero. 358

Appearance

Feeney is described as sunny and handsome, an appearance that can make him seem harmless despite his reputation and power. 73

  • Possessed by Evil Spirit armor — fully enclosed silver armor with a white cloak and glowing scarlet eyes. 7 23
  • Armor form — can darken and blend into shadows when using invisibility. 23
  • Weapon form — manifests as a longsword before transforming into armor. 26 240
  • Public disguise — initially conceals his identity behind armor and a mask. 348

Personality

Feeney is calculating, pragmatic, and intensely focused on becoming stronger. He regularly plans around his weaknesses, studies opponents before confronting them, and seeks experience from combat to advance his system draws. 21 105 264

He does not consider himself a true hero. While he is willing to protect Earth and intervene against major threats, he admits that self-interest often motivates him and rejects the expectation that he should act with impartial superhero morality. 111 160 358

Despite this pragmatism, Feeney is protective of Skye and his parents. He supports Skye's training, helps investigate her origins, and repeatedly prioritizes her safety. 52 160 389

His combat behavior can be underhanded when he believes it serves a useful purpose. He uses aerial attacks, targets Mordo's face during spars, and exploits loopholes to gain experience. 53

Abilities & Skills

Possessed by Evil Spirit

A peculiar living armor that adapts and evolves with its wearer. It can be summoned as a sword and transformed into armor through its incantation. Ancient One identifies it as a creature capable of adapting to and evolving with its user's power. 16

  • Enhances Feeney's physical abilities, including strength, speed, and spirit. 7
  • Provides powerful defense and automatically repairs damage after being dismissed. 7 240
  • Can be equipped by others, though its form and abilities adapt to the wearer. 16 26 97
  • Initially drains stamina rapidly; Feeney estimates an early limit of about twenty minutes. 7
  • Evolves abilities through training and combat, including invisibility, Physical Resistance, and Water Mode. 24 104 244
  • Is vulnerable to sufficiently strong repeated attacks and sharp weapons or claws. 105 222

Golden Great Deduction Technique

A reality-influencing technique that Feeney uses to enhance himself, weaken opponents, and assist others.

  • Can amplify physical capability when Feeney has a sufficiently precise understanding of the target's limits. 7 105
  • Helped Skye meet the physical requirements to equip Possessed by Evil Spirit. 26 105
  • Can weaken opponents, including Hulk, but its effects are not absolute and can fade as the target's state changes. 105
  • Its effectiveness depends on Feeney's knowledge of the subject rather than simple verbal commands. 105

Kamar-Taj Sorcery

Feeney is an apprentice of the Ancient One and trains at Kamar-Taj despite his average magical aptitude. 8 14 16

  • Portal magic — after months of practice, opens portals between Kamar-Taj and New York. 21
  • Mirror Dimension research — studies the spell independently. 75 110
  • Soul Ejection — attempts to learn the spell but struggles with it. 53
  • Uses magical knowledge in conjunction with armor, flight, and system abilities rather than relying on orthodox sorcery alone. 112

  • Enables free flight with very low energy consumption. 25
  • Provides aerial mobility for scouting, combat, and rapid travel. 26 316

Explosion

A powerful offensive spell obtained through his fifth draw. 55 56

  • Its destructive force exceeds Feeney's expectations and can solve most ordinary combat problems. 56
  • Requires an incantation; S.H.I.E.L.D. footage captures Feeney chanting before casting it. 66
  • Can be used against groups and large targets, including Stone Golems and enemy reinforcements. 230
  • Feeney remains cautious about using its maximum power near himself. 56

Breathing Technique

A cultivation technique Feeney practices continuously to develop energy. 148 160

  • Can be integrated into daily habits through repeated practice. 160
  • Lets Feeney sense elemental energies, including fire, water, earth, wind, and thunder. 209
  • May enable further transformations of Possessed by Evil Spirit as he learns to absorb different energies. 209

Kekkai Emperor

A time-related ability gained during Feeney's eighth draw. 203 204

  • Uses City of Time Consumption to absorb time from targets. 230
  • Gains greater time absorption when City of Time Consumption kills an enemy. 230
  • Possesses Four Bullets, including a time-rewind function Feeney considers capable of restoring damaged objects to a prior state. 240

Evil Eye

Feeney's ninth skill, allowing him to establish a small dimensional space around himself. 271

  • Grants dimensional-space control in a limited surrounding area. 271
  • Its development makes Feeney a Dimension Lord in Ancient One's assessment. 280
  • Feeney believes it gives him a chance in a one-on-one fight against Captain Marvel. 389
