Background

Skye was an orphan who had already passed through three foster homes before Feeney's wish inadvertently summoned her through the Golden Great Deduction Technique. Feeney's parents adopted her the following day, making her Feeney's non-blood-related sister. Though she found security with the Hailsaiz family, she remained troubled by why her biological parents had seemingly abandoned her 2 10.

Feeney eventually disclosed that Skye had been separated from her parents after an attack on their hometown. Her mother, Jiaying, had been targeted for her healing ability and tortured by Hydra, while Skye was sent to an orphanage for protection. Skye also learned that she carried alien genes and could awaken superhuman abilities 48 49.

After failing to learn magic at Kamar-Taj, Skye found another path when the Ancient One used Terrigen Crystals from the Obelisk to awaken her Inhuman power. The process briefly petrified her, but granted her Shockwave ability and renewed her determination to save her parents 16 77 79.

Feeney later located Skye's father, Carl Johnson, and brought them together.
