After hunting them down for most of the day, Lin Yun finally couldn't see any Apostles anywhere he looked.
He'd already lost count of how many Apostles he'd killed.
But one thing was clear: these Apostles were really weak.
Lin Yun could fly past and take one out with a single swing of his axe.
By his estimate, they were roughly level 10 and had Mythic rank. In terms of raw strength, they were only a little difficult for Guts, who didn't have Mythic rank, to handle.
A small number were a bit stronger, but that hardly mattered.
Still, Lin Yun was now only about one-eighth of the experience he needed to reach level 17 short. Not bad.
And so, the defense of Spirit Tree Hall—which should have been a battle fought against overwhelming odds—ended remarkably smoothly.
Kora, who had been cremated in the original story, was cremated all the same.
But it wasn't because the Apostles had set her on fire.
She was simply cremated after she died.
As mentioned before, because of the Undead Creatures, corpses had to be protected from desecration. Otherwise, they needed to be guarded by a church or the like.
For example, the Grail Knights in neighboring Batonia were protected by the Lady of the Lake's divine power.
The problem was, even so...there had been a time when someone stole the bodies of the Grail Knights and turned them into Black Grail Knights. That was only a few years away.
In short, cremation was safer.
And so, as Sierki wept, Lin Yun had wanted to hire a "professional" team, but because of "customs"...in the end, he decided against it.
At least this time, Kora had truly died of old age. It was a decent ending, all things considered.
Spirit Tree Hall hadn't been destroyed,
