After the Youngster Group players successfully captured San Shi's Monster Soul, the forum began running simulated tests and reviews of the new Monster Soul.
As the 25th Primal Monster captured by players, San Shi seemed to be nothing more than an unremarkable First Generation Origin.
But the San Shi Bow filled a gap in the Monster World's class system.
That gap was the ranged physical damage-dealer archetype.
After testing San Shi's Monster Soul, the forum's strategy players found it incredibly powerful. Its Origin Source trait let it slice any attack into multiple strikes.
Even players specializing in magic could make excellent use of it.
For example, when Bone Fire's Ink Flame Fireball was paired with San Shi, it could split the fireball into multiple projectiles for area attacks.
Before this, Inkflame attacks could only increase the rate of fire. Each fireball was still a single-target attack. But San Shi could split Inkflame into a barrage of fireballs that hit multiple targets.
In terms of power, San Shi's Monster Soul had a rule-based trait that let each split ability retain 20% of its effect. No matter how many pieces the ability was split into, each one still retained 20% of its effect. The number of pieces depended on San Shi's level.
Or take the Binding Monster Soul. Paired with San Shi, it could turn a single-target immobilization into an area immobilization effect.
The only thing that troubled magic-focused players was that when San Shi leveled up, it increased physical attributes instead of mental strength.
In the strategy players' tests, San Shi could be used as a main weapon without needing an arrow each time the bow was drawn.
Instead, it automatically drew on the player's Qi and Blood,
