Nature and Origin

Chakra is the dominant supernatural energy of the shinobi world. It is refined by its users and serves as the basis for ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu enhancement, medical techniques, sensory abilities, and other specialized arts 2 4 165.

Before Chakra became widespread, humanity relied on separate ancient traditions centered on physical energy, spiritual energy, or Natural Energy. After Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's arrival, Chakra became the mainstream because it was more universal, easier to cultivate, and capable of combining qualities from those older systems 55.
