Background

Su Ru was the Headmistress of Plant Academy when Li Fei arrived in Plant City. After learning that he had rescued seven academy students, reached Level 20 at a young age, and possessed a willow martial soul, she accepted him into the academy. Her plant expertise allowed her to immediately recognize that Li Fei's Yin Yang Willow had mutated from an ordinary Willow Tree martial soul. His account of achieving this mutation through self-exploration convinced her that his theories had practical value. 17

Impressed by Li Fei's cultivation speed and theoretical knowledge, Su Ru appointed him both a student and theoretical instructor, with a monthly salary of five hundred Gold Soul Coins. She later excused him from normal theoretical classes so that he could study independently in the library. 18

After witnessing Li Fei overwhelm Di Jie with self-created abilities, Su Ru decided that she wanted him as a disciple. She formally accepted him shortly afterward, providing one million Gold Soul Coins and Golden Vine Armor as a meeting gift.
