She knew nothing about this realm. To avoid danger, she skirted several regions where powerful divine senses clearly lingered, and eventually found a small city.
Its walls were built from massive blocks of blue-gray stone, more than four zhang high, engraved with profound runes and blanketed in moss.
"When I came to this world, there were no cities here yet. Only relatively primitive tribes, living as clans." Revisiting an old place seemed to stir some feelings in Samsara.
"Was the host you were bound to back then still alive?" Shi Lan asked curiously.
"They died young."
Samsara's voice held no emotion.
"Too young, too sharp-edged, and before their wings had grown, they became arrogant. While crossing between worlds, they offended a Supreme, who shot them dead from across the divide."
