Background / History
Qian Family Heir
Qiangu Changkong is Qian Jun Douluo's biological grandson and regards both Qian Jun and Falling Devil Douluo as his grandfathers. He inherited the Qian Family's Coiling Dragon Staff martial soul and grew up with the confidence—and entitlement—of a direct descendant of the Worship Hall's powerful lineage 6 255.
After obtaining his First Soul Ring, he challenged Wu Qi at the Martial Soul Hall Academy, initially insisting that their spar was unavoidable. His Coiling Dragon Flames augmented the staff with fire-attribute power and increased his strength, but Wu Qi's response to his bullying led Changkong to reassess himself 6 7. The two became friends through that fight; Changkong subsequently followed Wu Qi closely and changed from a troublemaker into a more diligent student 8.
Training and Team Battles
Qiangu Changkong accompanied Wu Qi on dangerous early training missions, including the Death Canyon trial. While Wu Qi was credited as the main force in defeating a Level 44 Soul Ancestor, Changkong provided support and earned recognition for completing the mission 18.
He later trained and fought alongside Wu Qi and Chen Ping. During the Qingfeng Village mission, he tested the stronghold's perimeter, used guerrilla tactics to wear down its defenders, organized assistance from nearby Spirit Hall branches, and led the final bandit-suppression operation 289 295 297.
At Seven Treasure Academy, he served as a frontline combatant for Wu Qi's team. During the chaos in Heaven Dou City, he and Feng Xiaotian defended the academy against overwhelming attackers while trying to keep civilians from being caught in the fighting 121 408.
Divine Trials and Rise to Title Douluo
Qiangu Changkong received Red Grade Eight Trials, a level of recognition attributed to his talent, repeated training under Qian Jun and Falling Devil Douluo, and potential as a divine successor 370 382. He later completed his Fourth Exam and acquired a Divine Artifact—a long staff tailored to his preferred weapon style 472 483.
The Ice Empress recognized him before he had reached Title Douluo and sacrificed herself to him, causing his Soul Power to surge from Rank 80 to Level 95 545. He publicly became Dragon Emperor Douluo during his coronation ceremony, where he left his name in Douluo Hall 556.
Personality
Qiangu Changkong was initially arrogant, confrontational, and prone to relying on his Qian Family background. He challenged Wu Qi shortly after obtaining his First Soul Ring and treated a spar as something his opponent could not refuse 6. Even after maturing, he retained a flashy confidence, enjoying dramatic poses after victories and openly challenging those who doubted Wu Qi or his own strength 246 419.
Despite this bravado, he possesses pride in his family and considerable courage. When targeted by a Soul Ancestor while still only a Soul Grandmaster, he refused to retreat because he believed the Qian Family's honor could not be disgraced 17. He also developed into a capable leader who disapproved of negligent Spirit Hall personnel, motivated local deacons to act, and accepted responsibility for compensation and discipline during the Qingfeng Village operation 295 297.
