Arthur's strike sent all the Fishmen present flying back.
But Arthur's expression was far from pleased. He knew the secret he had hidden here for so many years could no longer stay buried.
Sure enough, once all the Fishmen had been driven into the sea, applause rang out from beneath the waves.
"So it really is in your hands, Arthur. You have this trident, so why not think about your own future? Take it to the undersea world, and you'll be the mightiest king in the ocean."
"Yes, the mightiest king—and the biggest puppet, too." Arthur looked toward the source of the voice.
A giant wave had risen there. On top of it rode a man who looked somewhat like Arthur, astride a white seahorse and staring at him.
He held a weapon identical to Arthur's trident. The only difference was that Arthur's was golden, while the one in the man's hand was silver-white.
"You saw through that, too. It seems you know quite a lot. But what good will that do you? As descendants of the Sea Emperor, we must offer our strength to his great cause. Now's your chance. Give me your bloodline."
Arthur held his trident with its prongs pointed down and wore a look of disdain.
The man's expression turned grave at Arthur's reaction.
He knew Arthur's situation. He had avoided confronting him all these years partly because he had been searching for a silver trident that could stand against the golden one, and partly because he had been wary of Arthur's own strength.
He had wanted to see whether, after all these years without returning to the Ocean Kingdom, Arthur's golden trident still had any power.
