Given the situation, Liu Zhi initially thought the underwater deity wanted more soul fragments.
But even after he gave it the fragments, the deity still didn't leave. Instead, it seemed to want to tell him something.
After thinking it over, Liu Zhi reached toward the water, and a humanoid figure made of water appeared before him.
"Tell me what's going on."
"My lord, it's not that I don't want to take you there. It's just that the homeland is very hostile toward deities like us, who were born overseas. Until we reach a certain level, we can't go there. If we do, we'll become their dinner or their servants."
Hearing this, Liu Zhi furrowed his brow. He didn't know whether this applied only to minor deities or to all deities.
Still, with his level 17 strength, he wasn't worried about a few little fellows.
He said calmly, "All right. I understand."
With that, Liu Zhi no longer let the strange water deity push him forward. Instead, he calmly walked on by himself.
Liu Zhi had been able to walk on water from the very beginning.
At first, though, he needed to run across the water, using his speed to keep himself from sinking.
Over time, he gradually learned how to stand on the water.
After reaching the mythical level, Liu Zhi no longer had to consider whether he was walking on water or ordinary land. He could stroll just as easily wherever he went.
And so he continued, making his way toward the large island ahead.
He hadn't gone far when giant waves surged across the sea, and a huge sea beast thrust its head out of the water.
The creature looked like a snake, but it clearly had several heads. It wasn't quite the eight-headed Orochi of Japanese legend,
