For some reason, the ones who had come to attack the city were speaking Demonic.
This surprised Liu Zhi. He didn't attack the defenders just because they looked like monsters. Instead, he watched the battle from a distance.
He noticed that most of the attacking troops were human, and that they belonged to all sorts of different classes.
Most of them were naturally samurai wielding katanas, Ninjas dressed in black bodysuits, and some women in red-and-white shrine maiden outfits, along with Onmyōji wearing tall hats.
They looked distinctly Japanese, but their techniques were anything but.
The samurai seemed to be a variant of Paladins. They wielded katanas, yet could use holy light and spiritual energy.
The Ninjas were a variant of Assassins. The shrine maidens in red and white could use three different kinds of magic—fire, ice, and lightning—while the Onmyōji could summon Skeleton Soldiers or raise the dead from the ground.
It was easy to see that although they looked Japanese, their techniques corresponded to the Paladin, Assassin, Sorceress, and Necromancer classes from a certain game.
An ordinary person would surely have assumed that they were the heroes, and that all the troops defending the city were enemies.
But with Liu Zhi's current perspective, he didn't care who was in the right. He simply stayed where he was and watched.
