Liu Zhi reacted quickly to the thing that had ambushed him. He grabbed its tentacle with his free hand, and black Death Lightning surged down it.

In no time, the tentacle in Liu Zhi's grasp had turned into a charred black husk. Only then did he notice that some strange creatures seemed to have appeared underwater.

Most of them resembled whales or octopuses. Some were even hybrids or mutations of the two.

They were packed into the parts of the building that had been flooded by seawater, all their eyes fixed on him.

Liu Zhi snorted. He raised a hand, and Death Lightning shot out at once, streaking toward the eyes staring at him.

The giant creatures roared and leaped out of the water when Liu Zhi attacked them.

But they were enormous compared with the building around them. Once they jumped, they easily became wedged in various places.

Taking advantage of that, Liu Zhi calmly unleashed Death Lightning, knocking the creatures back into the water one by one.

As he fought, Liu Zhi noticed something: the creatures had no signs of life. They looked like puppets, models, or specimens made for a specific purpose.

Though they could move and fight, they had no life in them. Their movements were mechanical, and they were even inferior to Liu Zhi's undead. At least his undead had souls of their own.

What left Liu Zhi speechless was that the creatures had the same tenacity as the originals they were based on. He often had to put in a great deal of effort to kill just one.

And there were plenty of them. Every time he killed one, another group would show up.
