After entering the valley, Liu Zhi saw red stones scattered all over the ground. They looked strange—each was a fist-sized cube, as if someone had already cut them up and left them there for the taking.

The sight made Liu Zhi uneasy. He didn't rush in, instead looking around to make sure no one would suddenly leap out and attack him.

After waiting a while, until the Spider Infantry and Spider Shield Guards he had just deployed arrived, Liu Zhi led Videnina into the valley.

The moment he stepped into the valley, before he could even pick up one of the stones, Liu Zhi saw red light flash in the eyes of all the enormous statues lying on the ground.

Liu Zhi had units like gargoyles under his command. He knew that statues could also become powerful units.

And their activation usually began with their eyes turning red.

At the sight of this, Liu Zhi immediately backed out. He didn't want to find out what would happen here, though he wasn't afraid of facing a group of enemies made of stone, either.

As Liu Zhi retreated, the Spider Shield Guards stepped forward and formed a defensive wall. They raised the Square Shields they had just made and held them in front of themselves.

Liu Zhi had tested it: if at least three Spider Shield Guards formed a shield wall, they could block an ordinary shot from a Spider Cannon.

The shield wall formed by the nearly thousand Spider Shield Guards here might not withstand a nuclear strike, but the Plasma Cannons and the like probably wouldn't be able to break through their defense.
