Uchiha Nan picked at his ear. It was enough for him to hear such words; perhaps only idealists like the First in all of Konoha would take them seriously.
The Tobirama Senju before him was a vicious-looking, black-hearted old schemer. His words carried no conviction whatsoever—especially since Nan was an Uchiha, one of the people Tobirama discriminated against.
Damn brat!
Seeing Uchiha Nan's careless expression, Tobirama Senju felt the anger in his heart begin to slip out of control again.
"Brat, this is important!"
Tobirama Senju's tone was unfriendly, though his expression was grave. Uchiha Nan restrained his expression somewhat, and Tobirama continued:
"Konoha does not belong to one person, nor does it belong to one clan. It belongs to everyone in Konoha."
"And the Senju Clan has already produced two Hokage."
"Within the clan, people have begun saying that the Senju are Konoha. While my elder brother and I were alive, we could suppress the clan's ambitions. But my brother is dead now. When I too am gone, if the position of Third is still passed to the Senju Clan, who will be able to suppress that force?"
"Toma does have the ability and qualifications to become Hokage, but his surname is Senju."
Tobirama Senju stated his reasons calmly, his face expressionless.

Uchiha Nan immediately viewed Tobirama Senju in a different light.
Once an ancient dynasty lasted for three generations, it would basically develop dynastic momentum. So long as no godlike fool of an emperor appeared, its reign could usually continue for more than a century.
The position of Hokage was much the same. If Tobirama Senju truly passed the title to Toma Senju, then the Hokage for the next
