Buster Call

"Just as you'd expect from the Tree of Omniscience, which is over 5,000 years old. It's truly magnificent."

Looking at the towering tree that covered almost the entire island, Leon couldn't help but exclaim in awe.

Unfortunately, as the world's largest and most well-stocked repository of books, the Tree of Omniscience would soon be wiped off the map along with Ohara Island under the Navy's Buster Call.

The World Government had already resolved to destroy Ohara, a holy land of archaeology, to warn people across the world that the fate of anyone who investigated the Void Century was—death!

The island's residents had already begun fleeing with their families, scrambling to board the government's evacuation ships.

"There's no way to get onto Ohara Island right now."

Standing at the bow, Leon was trying to figure out how he could reasonably get ashore.

Boom!

World Government agents in black suits blew open a hidden chamber inside the Tree of Omniscience and successfully found the Poneglyph hidden there.

The island's historians had been surrounded beneath the Tree of Omniscience. Spandam activated the Den Den Mushi, allowing Dr. Clover to have one final conversation with the Five Elders.

Showing no respect for the Five Elders, Dr. Clover told them what his historical research had uncovered.

"The key to all the mysteries—the name of the kingdom that once flourished—is..."

"Kill him!"

Just as Dr. Clover was about to speak the name, the enraged Five Elders ordered him shot.

At the Five Elders' command, Spandam took out the Golden Den Den Mushi given to him by Admiral Sengoku.

He pressed the button.

Inside Marine Headquarters, the long-lived-looking silver Den Den Mushi let out a furious roar.

The Buster Call had begun!

"All ships, take your positions!"

"Prepare to fire!"

The Tree of Omniscience went up in flames. The archaeologists rushed into the fire, risking their lives to save the precious books.

Spandam ordered his men to take Robin's mother, Nico Olvia, with them as they evacuated.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Navy's bombardment began.

There were still ordinary citizens and World Government personnel on the island who had yet to evacuate.

But that was the Buster Call!

The entire fleet opened fire, targeting all of Ohara, the island of archaeology, to keep its knowledge from spreading.

In the name of justice, they would eliminate the demons of Ohara!

The warship Kuzan was aboard was firing shells without pause, while Kuzan lay expressionlessly on a deck chair.

At the bow, Leon had already spotted the figure of a giant, as tall as a small mountain.

"Vice Admiral!"

"Vice Admiral Kuzan!"

The Marine holding a single-lens telescope broke into a cold sweat as he repeatedly called Kuzan's name.

"On the island..."

"That's definitely..."

"So what are you trying to say? Spit it out!"

"Damn it!"

Kuzan sprang to his feet, shouting at the top of his lungs.

"It's Vice Admiral Sauro, who escaped!!!"

"Fire!"

The warships by the shore opened fire on Sauro. He withstood the bombardment, shielding Robin with both hands.

"Sorry, Robin. I must've scared you."

"Wait here for me."

Sauro set Robin down and charged fearlessly toward the Marine warships.

"Vice Admiral, don't!"

"What are you doing?!"

Like a furious lion, Sauro grabbed hold of a warship's railing.

The Marines aboard screamed and scattered in every direction. Sauro paid no heed to their pleas for mercy.

"I don't know what true justice is anymore."

"I just want to protect my friend!"

Overcome with fury, Sauro hefted the warship out of the water with both hands, then slammed it down onto another warship by the shore.

"Fire on Sauro!"

Sauro drew the Marines' attention to himself. Struggling to turn his head, he shouted for Robin to flee to the government's evacuation ship.

After watching for a long while from the warship, Kuzan finally composed himself and calmly said to Leon, "Leon, I'm going to stop Sauro..."

"Go rescue the Marines who fell into the water first, then meet me on the island."

"Hm?" Hearing that Kuzan was about to leave, Leon, who had been preparing to sneak onto the island, slowly formed a question mark.

"I don't think those Marines are in any immediate danger, and sending them back onto the warships might disrupt the attack..."

"Then take them to the government's evacuation ship first."

Leaving him with that, Kuzan rushed off without looking back, heading for Sauro, who was attacking the Marine warships.

"Take them to the evacuation ship?"

"They'd be better off staying in the water. At least they wouldn't get blasted to death by Akainu..."

Leon sighed. He decided to toss a couple of unlucky souls onto the evacuation ship, then use the confusion to sneak onto the island.

Seeing Robin blocked by Spandam and unable to board the evacuation ship, Sauro immediately turned and charged toward the warship where Spandam was.

"Ice Block: Two-Point Spear!"

Kuzan, cold mist rising from his body, attacked and pierced Sauro.

"Kuzan..."

Kneeling on the ground, Sauro watched Kuzan emerge from the smoke.

"Ah, if the Buster Call were stopped by a former Marine..."

"That'd be pretty embarrassing."

"Kuzan!" Sauro roared at him from his knees. "Are you proud of this attack!?"
