Saitama's figure instantly appeared outside. He stood on the rooftop, looking at a man who was lying prone on his roof. Well, he should be a man. This person was clad in a dark red, form-fitting leather suit and wore a mask with pointed ears that covered him completely.
Seeing this person, Saitama was a bit curious. "Are you a hero, or a thief?"
"What?" Daredevil, who had been stealthily lurking on the rooftop, heard the voice from behind and immediately jumped like a startled cat, his hair standing on end. Without thinking, he instantly got up to evade, warily "watching" the bald man who had appeared out of nowhere.
Daredevil's name was Matt. He was a blind lawyer. And by blind, he meant truly blind, not some metaphor.
By day, he was a lawyer, helping the poor with their lawsuits. By night, he donned this dark red, tight-fitting suit, covering himself completely, and went out to fight crime.
Daredevil's reputation had gradually grown, and many people knew of his existence.
This time, Daredevil had overheard some thugs talking about finding two fat sheep, a man and a woman, who seemed quite wealthy. In just two days, they had bought a new house, a car, computers, clothes, and more. Their behavior was practically an invitation: "We're rich, we're very rich, come rob us!" Especially since the man and woman didn't look like they could put up much of a fight. An Asian man and a woman who looked like she was of mixed European and Chinese descent.
If nothing else, Saitama's yellow skin alone made them a prime target. In another sense, people of Chinese descent represented money.
Chinese people liked to save money, unlike Americans who would spend their entire paycheck the day they received it, then live on credit cards. It seemed every Chinese person liked to save, accumulating their money bit by bit into a large sum.
It was this situation that made all sorts of thugs and hoodlums unable to resist targeting people with yellow skin.
Therefore, Saitama and Skye's appearances were perfectly suited to be robbery targets.
So, those thugs had set their sights on Saitama and Skye, planning to make their move that very night.
When Daredevil learned of this, he had infiltrated Saitama and Skye's rooftop in advance, preparing to intervene when the thugs appeared to attack them.
However, what Daredevil hadn't expected was that Saitama's strength was far beyond his imagination. He had been discovered the moment he arrived. If Saitama hadn't spoken, he wouldn't have even known Saitama was standing behind him.
This was incredible to Daredevil. Normal people relied on their eyes to perceive their surroundings. Daredevil relied on his ears; his highly developed hearing was almost like a radar. Yet, even with that, Daredevil hadn't detected Saitama's arrival.
"So, are you a hero, or a thief?" Saitama asked again.
"Who... who are you?" Daredevil tried to steady his breathing, telling himself not to panic, even though he knew he might have encountered someone very powerful.
"Hey, can you answer my question first? And, wearing a mask like that, with no eyes, is that really okay? If it were me, I might even walk into walls," Saitama said, looking curiously at Daredevil's mask, which had no eyeholes.
"I am Daredevil!" Daredevil said in a deep voice, his muscles tensed, in a state of readiness. If Saitama made any wrong move, he could react at any moment.
"Daredevil? Never heard of him. So, are you a hero?"
"A hero? Perhaps. I stop any evil I know of," Daredevil explained in a low voice.
"Wow, that's great! I'm a hero too. My name is Saitama, a hero for fun," Saitama introduced himself happily.
"A hero for fun?" Daredevil found the phrase strange.
Just then, a scream came from inside the room, so sharp that Saitama couldn't help but cover his ears.
"Skye's getting anxious. Let's talk inside," Saitama said to Daredevil.
"No—"
Daredevil had only managed to utter a single syllable before Saitama grabbed his shoulder. Before Daredevil could even react to what was happening, he was being dragged back into the room by Saitama.
"Saitama?" Skye's eyes widened as she saw Saitama disappear and reappear in the blink of an eye. "Wait, who is he? Where did you two come from? What's going on? Wait, his appearance is—" Skye felt her head was about to explode. She felt it was all too, too strange, even bizarre. Then she saw Daredevil's costume and immediately recognized him.
After all, as a hacker, Skye was very well-informed. She knew more about many things in New York than the average person, let alone a superhero like Daredevil who had appeared not too long ago.
"Oh, him, he's—"
"Ugh..."
Daredevil was blind. Everything he perceived relied on his ears. Just now, his ears seemed to have suddenly frozen. No, it was as if a computer had been hit by billions of hacker attacks at once. Countless incomprehensible pieces of information flooded his brain, making Daredevil feel not only dizzy but also his head aching and swelling, as if it were about to break. It was incredibly uncomfortable. To be more precise, it was like severe motion sickness.
So, Daredevil threw up.
"Hey, hey, are you okay?" Clearly not expecting Daredevil to suddenly vomit, Saitama couldn't help but worry. But he didn't step forward; instead, he pinched his nose and took two steps back. Skye did the same. After all, the smell emanating from Daredevil at that moment was not pleasant.
"S-sorry... cough... I, cough..." Daredevil tried to explain, but the severe motion sickness made it impossible for him to utter a complete sentence.
"What's wrong with him?" Skye couldn't help but ask. She found it hard to understand. Shouldn't a superhero be cool and handsome? Why was Daredevil so pathetic? With that look of vomiting, one could mistake him for a pregnant woman in her trimester.
"I don't know. He was fine just now," Saitama said, shaking his head blankly.
