"Gulp!"
Tony and Yinsen watched as Saitama didn't seem to intend to restrain or trouble them. Thus, the two of them cautiously stepped out of the cave, which had now become a rock overhang, and saw the situation outside. What was originally just a small, sunken basin had now transformed into a canyon, spreading outwards at a forty-five-degree angle from their cave.
They couldn't even see any people, let alone their bodies.
With what seemed like a casual swing of his arm, the entire terrain had been altered.
Tony and Yinsen couldn't help but swallow hard, and their gazes back at Saitama were filled with even more fear.
Even though Saitama, the bald man, looked bored and listless, showing no signs of being a master.
Finally, Tony couldn't hold back.
"Uh, I'm Tony Stark, and this is Yinsen. We don't know how to address you."
"I'm Saitama."
"Saitama? Mr. Saitama, you were hired by Stark Industries to come and rescue me, right?"
"Mhm, mhm, mhm, I did come specifically to rescue you, Mr. Hundred Million Dollars."
"Hmm, I might understand how much reward you'll get for rescuing me, but could you change that title of 'Mr. Hundred Million Dollars'?"
"Alright, Mr. Hundred Million Dollars, no problem, Mr. Hundred Million Dollars."
"...Fine, call me whatever you want. May I ask, how did you do that?"
"Do what?"
"I mean, one punch, just like that, and you turned this place into this. How did you do it? Are you really human? Is your body perhaps made with some kind of high-tech?" Tony knew Saitama was there to save him and wouldn't harm him, so he relaxed a little and couldn't help but press further.
"Of course, I'm human. I haven't undergone any body modifications. I'm just a hero for fun." Saitama shook his head.
"A hero for fun?" Tony had never heard anyone explain it like that before, to the point where he desperately wanted to retort. For fun? Because he was interested, he became a hero?
Tony stared blankly at Saitama, still finding it hard to believe that someone could be this powerful. A single punch, the destructive force of which could likely rival an intercontinental missile. This was simply too strong. Was Saitama really human? He looked like a walking nuclear bomb.
Tony couldn't help but size up Saitama, trying to discern something from him.
In Tony's sight, Saitama had a dazed and cute expression, his eyes vacant. He lightly touched a wall, and dust fell, landing directly on Saitama. Some even seemed to have fallen into Saitama's mouth. From Saitama constantly spitting and sputtering, it was evident.
Yet, such a powerful person was now getting dust in his mouth from a mere speck. Was Saitama really that strong? Yes, he was indeed that strong; he had seen it with his own eyes. But even after seeing it, he still felt it was too incongruous. After all, apart from that punch, Saitama showed no aura of a powerhouse, especially letting dust accidentally fall into his mouth.
Bzzzzt...
The sound of an engine reached Tony's ears, and he felt a surge of energy. No matter the situation, he was saved.
He quickly turned to call out to Saitama, but when he looked back, Saitama had vanished without a trace. After a moment of stunned silence, he quickly called out to Yinsen, and the two of them scrambled towards the direction of the engine sound.
After finally climbing to the top of the canyon, Tony saw a woman smiling down at him. Hmm, a rather pretty woman. In a place like a party, he wouldn't have minded inviting her for a dance and perhaps developing things further. But he wasn't in the mood now.
Although Saitama had given him a tremendous shock earlier, seeing the Happy Jeep ahead filled Tony with surprise.
"Mr. Hundred Million Dollars, finally found you. Come on, get in, I'll take you back. Uh, and who is this?" Skye greeted Tony first, then turned her gaze to Yinsen.
"Yinsen, another unlucky fellow captured by terrorists," Yinsen smiled and introduced himself.
"Alright, this Happy Jeep has ample space, so it can fit you both. Get in, we need to leave."
"Thank you!"
The four of them directly got into the Happy Jeep. Saitama sat in the passenger seat, while Tony and Yinsen sat in the back.
"Do you want some water? There's some food in the car too, you can eat if you're hungry. But the food doesn't taste very good, so you can wait and have a feast at the US Military base when we get back," Skye said cheerfully to Tony and Yinsen.
"Thank you, thank you."
"Thank you, hmm, is this instant ramen? Don't you have cheeseburgers?" Tony asked, "I really want a cheeseburger right now."
"Sorry, there's no McDonald's here. And fast food like that is much harder to carry and store than instant noodles. Of course, if you don't like instant noodles, you can wait a bit."
"Alright, actually, I really want to eat instant noodles now. You have no idea what Yinsen and I have been eating for the past half month. Just thinking about it makes me sick. If it weren't for the nutrients it provided, I wouldn't have eaten it even if you beat me to death. Mmm, mmm! This is delicious! These instant noodles are super tasty! Even better than cheeseburgers." Tony's eyes widened, looking like he had tasted something incredibly delicious.
He had truly been tormented during this period, so now, being able to eat a bowl of instant noodles naturally felt like he was eating a delicacy.
He wolfed down the instant noodles. After a satisfied burp, Tony leaned back comfortably in his seat, listening to the music coming from the front, his body involuntarily swaying to the rhythm. Suddenly, Tony felt a sense of déjà vu, as if he had experienced this scene before. Recalling it, it seemed like this was how things were before he was captured by those terrorists. Unconsciously, Tony felt a bit uneasy; it was a psychological scar.
At this moment, Skye, while driving back, began to contact the US Military base via communicator.
"...We've found Mr. Hundred Million Dollars, uh, Mr. Tony Stark."
"He's been rescued, and we're heading back."
"Yes, that's right. You can hurry over."
"Okay, no problem." With a sense of ease and joy, Skye ended the communication.
