The voyage that followed was uneventful enough, but Ian stayed busy the entire time.
He refined some Alchemy Gunpowder and replenished the stock of explosive bombs, then refined some Enchanted Weapon Oil and stored it in the warehouse. They would be useful whether for his own use or for sale.
At night, he kept studying the Magic Patterns of Forbidden Enchantment. These past two days, he had also been considering Rebecca's education. He felt even busier than when he had worked on Earth.
In another dozen or so days, Rebecca would turn thirteen. She had already received some basic education in writing, arithmetic, history, and etiquette from her family. In another three years, she would be able to awaken her spirituality, so the teaching of Extraordinary knowledge would have to begin as well.
Awakening one's spirituality was not a matter of the earlier, the better. Spirituality was a sensory tentacle that could touch the Spirit Realm and the Shadow Realm. If someone was too young and did not know how to control their emotions and behavior, they could easily invite disaster.
Most Extraordinary families only performed spiritual awakenings after the age of sixteen. Of course, if the person was mentally mature and possessed strong self-control, awakening earlier was naturally better.
Ian planned to teach Rebecca himself. He did not trust anyone else. If someone subconsciously mixed in some of their own agenda during the teaching process, she could easily be led astray.
The [Leviathan] arrived several hours ahead of schedule. The sun had yet to set, but the outline of Paradise Island was already visible in the distance.
Ian did not look for a place to land on Paradise Island directly. He had the [Leviathan] sail around the island's western side, then, taking advantage of the growing darkness, began
