Background / History
The Human Race's Fortune is the accumulated destiny, heritage, and collective will of humanity. It originated from generations of human ancestors who led humanity through hardship: Suirenshi brought fire, Fuxi derived the Eight Trigrams, Shennong tasted the hundred herbs, Xuanyuan governed the world, and the Five Emperors established order. Its flame represents humanity's refusal to yield to Heaven and Earth. 19
The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors originally suppressed this fortune within Fire Cloud Cave. As the current Human Sovereign, Zi Shou could gather it and was protected by the Human Dao, but his own fortune initially dissipated due to his offense against Nüwa. 1
Zi Shou's reforms, Human Canonization, and resistance to divine authority repeatedly strengthened the fortune. It grew from a formless force into successive manifestations, eventually surpassing the prosperity of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors' age. 92 101 232
After the Nine Heavenly Steeles were established across the Nine Provinces, they became the primary vessels suppressing and gathering the fortune. Their existence kept it stable through later dynastic changes and enabled qualified Human Sovereigns to mobilize it. 232 306 380

Abilities & Properties
Protection and Backlash
The fortune protects the Human Sovereign and humanity from hostile interference, especially attacks that directly target human authority or the Human Race.
- Hostile cultivators can suffer backlash merely by releasing their aura before a manifested Human Sovereign. 30
- Human Canonization grants those enfeoffed under it protection from calamities while humanity's destiny remains at its height. 88
- Saints hesitate to use their true methods against Zi Shou because doing so triggers severe backlash. 287
- Its barrier can be shattered by an Innate Supreme Treasure, though it can be reassembled when additional fortune is gathered. 360
Empowerment
When condensed upon a recognized Human Sovereign, the fortune can drastically elevate combat strength and cultivation.
- Zi Shou uses it to shatter Jade Emperor Haotian's Nine Heavens Divine Thunder. 96
- Its growth accelerates Zi Shou's cultivation within the Hall of Heroes. 101 177
- It can elevate canonized allies' realms, raising Nezha and Yang Jian to Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal and Golden Spirit Holy Mother to Quasi-Saint. 265
- Zhao Che uses the Four Supreme Totems to consolidate fortune and rise from Zenith Heaven Golden Immortal beyond the Sage's Three Corpses threshold. 465
Human Canonization and Fortune Sharing
The fortune sustains the Human Race Holy Court and can be shared with individuals or allied races.
- Canonized deities receive regional authority, immortality, and a share of Human Fortune. 92
- The Four Seas Dragon Clan becomes a Fortune Totem, allowing it to share humanity's fortune and shed its Karmic Burden. 117 120
- The Phoenix Clan becomes a Fortune Totem, ending its threat of extinction and receiving merit. 123
- The Wu Clan's connection to the fortune provides it with protection and a path toward continued survival. 172
Artifact Enhancement
Human Race's Fortune can empower artifacts and formations closely linked to humanity.
- It elevates the Divine Diagram Sword Formation and Forty-Nine War Swords to a level comparable to top-grade Primordial Treasures. 253
- It powers the Twelve Divine Gods and Evil Spirits Great Array and links its eleven canonized participants. 265
- It enables the Three Sovereigns Mirror, Five Emperors Pagoda, Divine Diagram, and other Myriad Heavens Treasures to resonate. 375 421
- The four Supreme Totems can merge through it into the Human Sovereign Sword, which only a Human Sovereign may wield. 505
Human Realm Authority
With the Nine Heavenly Steeles and the Myriad Heavens Treasures, the fortune lets its bearer command the Human Realm.
- Within Great Shang's territory, Zi Shou can govern its rules almost like the Heavenly Dao, though still below a Sage. 237
- A completed Human Realm allows its lord to mobilize the power of an entire realm through the fortune. 375 421
- Zhao Che can command the Eastern Land's half of the Human Realm, becoming effectively invincible within Huaxia. 472
Limitations
- Its strength depends on humanity's prosperity, unity, and the amount of fortune that can be gathered. 3 479
- It does not automatically gather unless its bearer is recognized or meets the necessary circumstances; Ying Zheng's initial protective barrier was broken by the Primordial Sky-Splitting Blade. 360
- Fragmentation of the Human Race scatters its fortune and reduces the amount available to a single ruler. 450 465
- The Human Race's Great Calamity threatens its long-term stability because no previous Protagonist of Heaven and Earth escaped the cycle of rise and decline. 444 483
