Background

Origins and early leadership

Goddess Nüwa created the Human Race. Fuxi, Shennong, Xuanyuan, and the Five Emperors later established humanity's standing through achievements such as deriving the Eight Trigrams, tasting herbs, governing the realm, and taming floods. 19 380

The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors became humanity's foundational ancestors and were bound within Fire Cloud Cave to suppress the Human Race's Fortune. Their confinement was tied to the traditional cycle of dynastic change and the belief that Human Sovereigns should not achieve immortality or rule indefinitely. 136 137

Before Zi Shou's rise, the Human Race was expected to lose its final Human Sovereign after the Canonization of the Gods and continue under lesser Sons of Heaven. 2 19

Great Shang reforms

As Human Sovereign, Zi Shou rejected humanity's dependence on gods and immortals. He founded a cultivation path based on the Five Great Secret Realms of the Human Body and the Field Domain, establishing a Dao intended specifically for humanity rather than an imitation of immortal or divine methods. 100 101

The Nine Heavenly Steeles gather and suppress Human Race's Fortune across the Nine Provinces.
