The Burned-Out Magician
This was the quietest night in Karakura Town's history; the appearance of the dreamlike bubbles plunged the Karakura Town's residents into a blissful dream.
In some unknown corner, there exists a group of people who, with extraordinary powers, roam the streets and alleys, tirelessly replacing human memories.
The following morning's news was flooded with plagiarized articles and low-quality content. Everyone was engrossed in discussing the strange events of the previous night. No one knew exactly what had happened, but through conversation, they realized that they, like everyone else, had had a wonderful dream.
Finally, the official explanation was that an oxygen leak from a laboratory caused the oxygen concentration in Karakura Town to rise, and everyone fell into a state of oxygen intoxication.
The conclusion is this; whether you believe it or not is irrelevant. With the expert's professional endorsement, you have to believe it whether you like it or not.
Occasionally, someone posts online that they vaguely heard a love story that night, but these kinds of conclusions are quickly drowned out, deleted, or replaced with offline, real-life, one-stop services.
In short, if you can't completely erase a memory, then erase it again.
"That guy, Ginjo, has really given me a lot of trouble." Lying on her company desk, Yukio stared at the floor with lifeless, uninteresting eyes.
Although Yukio's Fullbring is game-related, it is also very effective in network intrusion. He was the one who assigned the deletion of posts and offline missions. It can be said that he has been cleaning up Ginjo's messes all along.
"Thank you for your hard work, Yukio. A heartbroken older single person needs more care." Tsuna placed a glass of Xcution special on Yukio's table.
"Heh, if his romantic legend hadn't already spread Soul Society, I would have definitely taught him a lesson in the game." Taking a swig of coffee, Yukio felt a sliver of health return to her.
"Perhaps you could try a different game style, like switching from fighting games to visual novels?" Tsuna suggested, though Yukio herself preferred fighting games.
"Great idea! I'll start making it right away!" Yukio exclaimed, clapping her hands.
"Take it easy, and remember not to use Yuko's image, or Ginjo will take your game console apart."
Tsuna left, and for several days after the bubble night, he worked tirelessly to minimize the impact of the incident. Life was finally able to return to normal.
Yeah, right!
Thinking about that night when Jūshirō Ukitake, who was temporarily in command, invited Nini and Noelle to the Seireitei as guests after hearing about the incident involving the Western Witch, Tsuna felt a headache coming on.
It's obvious that this task has fallen to Tsuna again. For both the host and the guest, the other side is unknown, so he can only act as an intermediary to protect Nini and Noelle's safety and provide the Seireitei with some Western intelligence.
Shaking his head, he temporarily put aside the worry of taking the witch to Seireitei. Today was the day Cecile's Double Death concert was reopening.
The concert that night ultimately didn't take place; the amount of foam released by "Foam" was so great that it affected even the audience who were already hallucinating.
So Cecile's Double Death concerts were postponed for a few days, but the same audience still attended, and the concerts were held again.
At the concert, everyone except Tsuna and Noelle went into a frenzy; when it comes to being an idol, Nini has absolute talent.
Tsuna had been offline for a while, and since he didn't have any romantic feelings for Nini, he had no interest in idol girl groups and was just there to accompany his friend.
Noelle's situation was even simpler. In London, both Reverse London and outside the city, there were Nini's advertisements everywhere. She had seen Nini's performances countless times and was practically immune to them.
And so, two people who were least interested in concerts, with Reishi's help, started exchanging information about the past few days at the bustling concert venue.
"How is it? I heard from Tatsuki that you've submitted your report?" Tsuna hasn't been home these past few days, while Tatsuki has been staying at the hotel to accompany Noelle to and from school.
In the past few days, Noelle has completed her report on the pursuit of the Veiled Dragon and sent it back to London via email. Since the Sawada couple haven't gone to London yet, Noelle and her group will have to stay in Japan for a while longer.
"WB is shocked by the transformation of the Veiled Dragon into Fairy Tale Dragon. It's said they'll send someone to Japan to investigate. This person is my and Nini's new direct superior. Besides the on-site investigation, it seems that Reverse London also needs to re-establish contact with the East Bureau," Noelle briefly explained.
"Sure, the Seireitei has invited you too. Let's go to Soul Society together after your direct superior arrives."
The thought that he wouldn't have to bear the safety risk of two witches alone made Tsuna quite happy. "By the way, when is your leader arriving in Japan?"
"To Japan tomorrow." WB took Noelle's report very seriously and immediately sent a specialist over.
"Okay, I'll go with you to pick him up at the airport tomorrow."
As an exchange student who hasn't been at school for very long, it doesn't really matter whether Noelle is there or not; she can just ask for leave tomorrow.
As for Tsuna, Sawada Nana is too exhausted to ask about his life at school, so the Tsuna Doll project is restarted.
The next day, at the airport.
Noelle held up a sign welcoming Little Billy, her face expressionless. She didn't know her new boss and needed the sign for help.
"Is your boss very young?" Tsuna asked curiously.
"No, his name Little Billy Banks Jr., he's the second generation in his family, hence the 'Small'," Noelle said.
"So, old Billy is quite famous in Reverse London among you?"
"I don't know him, but the book says that old Billy was a hero."
"Son of a hero, it seems WB really values this meeting." Tsuna exclaimed.
A man worthy of being called a hero must be one of the most powerful men in Reverse London, so what kind of person will his son be?
Tsuna and Noelle were chatting idly, neither of them noticing that the person they were supposed to pick up had already arrived behind them.
"You must be Noelle -chan? I'm Little Billy Banks." It was a lazy, nonchalant voice.
Tsuna and Noelle quickly turned around and found a middle-aged man wearing a green jacket, a green baseball cap, and a mustache, with a somewhat blank expression. In a way, his decadent and carefree aura really matched his voice.
"Are you Little Billy Banks Jr.?" Noelle quickly pulled up an email on her phone, which contained a handsome headshot. Upon closer inspection, she realized that, apart from his demeanor, he was exactly the same as the man in front of her.
"Yes, I've just been transferred to the Flute Squad, and I'll be in charge of managing you and Nini from now on. You can just call me Billy," Little Billy Banks said.
Unlike Noelle, Tsuna had no doubt that the person in front of him might be an imposter. His intuition told him that this man's nonchalant demeanor concealed strength no less than that of Captain-level.
Little Billy. is amazing! Aside from his looks and demeanor, he absolutely lives up to the title of son of a hero.
"I'm Sawada Tsunayoshi, a friend of Shinbashi-kun, and your main contact person for this trip to Japan. Feel free to contact me if you need anything."
Tsuna reached out and shook hands with Billy, Billy immediately realized and said, "I know, Noelle- chan mentioned in her report that thanks to you, my two subordinates were unharmed. Thank you so much!"
Needless to say, the airport wasn't the place to talk, Tsuna took a taxi directly to Nini's apartment.
"What! Uncle, you're my direct supervisor?" Nini's expression was exaggerated, looking completely unconvinced. "Impossible! I absolutely refuse to admit it!"
"Hey, I'm not here for nothing. As long as you sign and confirm, you'll get points as a reward," Little Billy said, holding up his phone.
He came because of Noelle's report; his mission in Japan wouldn't be considered complete until Nini and Noelle confirmed it on-site.
Points-based rewards are a well-established system in Reverse London. WB will issue tasks with different point rewards to increase the enthusiasm of Magicians.
The points earned can be exchanged for items in WB or converted into currency usable in human society.
"For such a meager reward, who do you look down on...?"
Before Nini could finish speaking, Noelle had already clicked "confirm." Nini, as if betrayed by Noelle, clutched her chest and cried out in anguish, "A-Xin, you..."
"Nini- chan, you've already made a fortune. I need compensation to improve my quality of life," Noelle said matter-of-factly.
Noelle's elders didn't give her much pocket money, so in order to get what she wanted, Noelle had no choice but to embark on the path of earning money.
Noelle's joining WB as a witch was largely due to the rewards she could earn from completing tasks.
Compared to Nini, who has no shortage of money but lacks the thrill of adventure and a broad sense of social recognition, and who always wants to join the Tactical Squad, Noelle doesn't mind the logistical life in the Flute Squad at all. It's safe and well-paid, so why not?
"Nini, don't underestimate him, Uncle Billy is very strong," Tsuna said, defusing Nini's dissatisfaction.
"Really?" Nini asked suspiciously. If these words came from Noelle, she might have thought they were just words of comfort, but coming from Tsuna, a strong person, Nini had to take them seriously.
Little Billy pulled his baseball cap down slightly. This boy had actually seen through his disguise at a glance; he was no ordinary guy. It seemed the report had some merit; this boy really might have killed a dragon.
"It's not that exaggerated. Isn't it normal to be a little better than you? I just learned a few more magic tricks. You guys could do that too..."
Little Billy tried to brush it off with a laugh, which happened to be exactly what Nini was looking for. If you acknowledge her magical talent, everyone can be good friends...
