Back then, Qiu Dao was still a descendant of an earl's family in the Grand Duchy. The nobles of the Grand Duchy were then very fond of a luxurious lifestyle, using Dizang Wang honey to make pastries. They spared no expense buying it from hunters, even posting long-term mercenary missions at high prices.
For a time, driven by human greed, the species teetered on the brink of extinction.
When the young scholar Qiu Dao learned that the pastry in his hands might be the last ever made with Dizang Wang honey, he realized that a species was about to disappear. It suddenly occurred to him: to these creatures, wasn't humanity itself a plague like the Black Death, a tremendous disaster?
After that,
whenever the studious Dizang Wang thought of the matter, he felt a deep sense of loss. He gazed at the ever-growing collection in the Specimen Room. Instead of feeling accomplished or pleased, he became increasingly disgusted. The reproach deep within him led him to make his final decision: abandon his pursuit of the Esoteric of Evolution and leave his homeland.
